Hello, thanks for visiting my webpage.  
I am an artist living in St Albans, UK. Having trained and worked as an architect and a design journalist, I am interested in painting buildings, landscapes and the special stuff light does to them. 
I've been painting on and off since I was a kid, but never been able to dedicate the time to push myself beyond that which came naturally to me. However life changes - this year I finally put myself on that journey. These paintings of St Albans Abbey are from my recent "getting my eye in" phase; a starting point. As a backstory I've also added a page of my work from the past.

As I live in St Albans I've started my journey here in this historic place, where our most significant building is the cathedral: St Albans Abbey. 
Whilst the abbey lies right next to the town centre its actually rather cut off from it physically.  I spent my summer searching out the few streetscapes from which you get a good look at the abbey and trying to paint them in their best light.
